A recent online discussion has sparked curiosity about the experiences of teachers who have transitioned from classroom teaching to non-classroom roles, such as school psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. These professionals work closely with students, often in smaller groups, to address specific needs and provide targeted support. For those considering a career shift, this article offers a chance to hear from colleagues who have made the leap and explore the rewards and challenges of alternative roles in education."

Hi All! Wanted to see if there is anyone here who switched from a gen. Ed position to another non-classroom position in schools and if you like it better? For reference, I’m a 2nd year Kindergarten teacher but I’m always fascinated by the roles of people like school psychs, OT, SLP, etc. I’ve been having this feeling of wanting to work with students on a different level and just do *more* with a focus on a smaller group of kids. submitted by /u/ClumsyUki [link] [comments]
