Central government teachers are set to receive a significant pay hike with the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. According to reports, the minimum pay for a Level 1 employee, which is the lowest rung in the pay scale, has been fixed at Rs 50,000. This is a substantial increase from the current minimum pay, which has been a point of contention for many teachers. The pay hike is expected to benefit over 1 million central government teachers, with the maximum pay for top-level employees capped at Rs 2.25 lakh (Rs 225,000), but for the highest level, it could be up to 3.83.
