In my 5th grade class the other day, I called out a few students for making fun of a girl and how she looked doing something normal. These students consistently make fun of and target others. I pulled them aside, let them know it was rude, texted their parents, and told them that if this continues, it’s considered bullying which is really serious and involves official paperwork. All the students were very mad and upset. They went to the assistant principal and told her that I “unjustly texted their parents. “ Next day, assistant principal took time out of my day to ask for “my side of the story” and to ask if I’d be open to a “restorative conversation” with the students. HUH?! Am I wrong to think this is bizarre of the assistant principal to be so accommodating to these students so much as to question ME about texting parents for borderline bullying?? submitted by /u/Artistmusiciangarden [link] [comments]
