MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY - ILIGAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY HOSTS STEM EDUCATION REFORMS DISCUSSION In a bid to revolutionize the way students learn and teachers teach, a recent gathering at the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) saw key stakeholders pushing for reforms in teacher training and learner-centered education in STEM fields. The CED (Center for Education Development) and CISTEM (Center for Innovation and Technology for Educational Media) collaboration organized the STEM Kapihan, a platform for educators, policymakers, and industry experts to share insights and best practices. With the Philippines aiming to become a hub for innovation and technology, the need for a more effective and engaging education system has never been more pressing. By rethinking teacher training and embracing learner-centered approaches, educators hope to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
