In a move aimed at preparing the next generation of Americans for an increasingly technology-driven world, Congressman Fine has introduced the K-12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act of 2026. The bill, which was filed on House.gov, seeks to establish AI literacy as a core component of the national education curriculum for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. By doing so, lawmakers hope to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate and thrive in an era where artificial intelligence is increasingly prevalent in various aspects of life. If passed, the legislation would also provide funding and resources to support teacher training and the development of AI-integrated curricula.
