I was at a district meeting yesterday where we were discussing CTE teachers and the conversation turned hostile. I was unaware that there was so much resentment against CTE teachers! One thing in particular that struck me was the annoyance at CTE teachers for requiring students to pass a class before advancing to the next class in the pathway sequence. This seems straightforward to me: if you can't pass the foundations class then you won't succeed at the next level. We wouldn't move a student to algebra II that hasn't passed algebra I (would we?). So my question is: do you require students to pass before they can advance through your CTE courses? submitted by /u/Global-West-1179 [link] [comments]
