The catch: they've just started a new teaching job that they love, and quitting may not be the best career move. As the winner weighs the pros and cons of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, they're forced to consider whether the experience is worth giving up a job that brings them joy and respect. Read their personal account of the dilemma and how they plan to make their decision."

What would you choose if you were me? Last year, I applied to Fulbright ETA when i wasn’t renewed, i thought what better time than now to do something i’ve always wanted…. This position involves co teaching with a teacher in another country teaching english for 11 months. I would receive a living stipend but i am not getting paid. Little background, i am in my third year teaching! I started the application/whole process over the summer. Fast forward to now, I actually won. In the time from then to now a lot has changed. I found a teaching job where I am actually respected, i love working there. it is so chill. I just started at this district so if i take the scholarship, i most likely would lose my job lol. The other cons would be I may have to support my husband with rent. I’d also really miss my pet. I guess…. i expected to want this scholarship as bad as before. i also never expected to like another teaching job again so i thought if i got this it would be an easy decision. I’m not sure if quitting a job i like is a good idea. submitted by /u/user3849203 [link] [comments]
