I came into my current situation mid year after leaving a school that hated me. The kids are ok but I notice that they don’t respond to me like other teachers or behave as well in my class. I’ve tried almost everything in the playbook: seat changes, calls home, referrals, raising my voice, but it seems like they just don’t respond to me. It’s making me insanely depressed and I’m blaming myself for my struggles in the classroom. I’m trying so hard every day and coming up short.
