I just got hired to teach middle school math in a rough school. I’m not just saying that for fun, teachers have been permanently injured by students in the last few years. I know it’s gonna be a unique experience for my first year teaching but I went to a much rougher school as a kid so I’m not really that worried. What I am really worried about is given the behaviors that go on, I imagine this isn’t the kind of school where I can just step out to go to the bathroom. That being said, I literally have IBS so when I need to go, I need to go there’s no stopping it. During student teaching my mentor teacher joked that most of them get utis from holding it.
