I just got word from our principal that one of my students died over spring break due to a medical issue. I’ll be okay (we weren’t super close), but I have no idea how to handle it in class. I teach 11th grade in a city school, so kids are well-versed in death, but our school handles things very piecemeal (i.e. send crying kids to the basement where the counselors are) and I have no idea how to approach this with my AP lang class. He was well-liked, but often absent. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? TIA. submitted by /u/mrs_seinfeld [link] [comments]
