I'm a 4th grade teacher (4th year teaching) who had a panic attack at a school awards assembly. I've always been nervous at these assemblies but never had a panic attack. But yesterday, it got so bad that I fled and went to my assistant principal (she was in her office) to ask if she could present the awards instead. She agreed and was very understanding, and I went to my classroom to breathe and ended up crying. I felt so incompetent and unprofessional. I then sent my principal an email to explain what happened (she was at the assembly) and apologized for my lack of professionalism. She did not reply, and I'm worried about losing my job. Is this the end of my teaching career? :/ To add, I fled while the other teachers were presenting awards. I fled before it was my turn to present the awards. submitted by /u/Educational_Heat1217 [link] [comments]
