Is it normal for teachers to be emotional when it’s a student’s last day at a school?

I work in an autism school as a paraprofessional with autistic kids and we had one student that’s in a new program now. Yesterday was his last day and it was a bit sad but we were happy for him because he is going to a program that’s going to support him one on one. We had him for about two years. Such a cut, sweet little boy, but he was a real handful, but he isn’t aggressive. My two coworkers and I were sad but we know that it was best for him to be at a program that suits him. Last night before I went to bed, I burst into tears and I didn’t understand why I was crying, but then I’m like because we’re gonna miss that kid, but we had to remember that we had to do what’s best for him. submitted by /u/ArtisticKay_Marie [link] [comments]
