First year teacher checking in. This has been a chaotic year from the jump. I have several behaviors in my room and my class is just incredibly loud overall. Is it normal to not feel some sort of connection with your students? I feel like an awful human being, but they make it so very difficult for me to find them likable. I feel like I’m constantly correcting bad behavior. I’m sure they feel the disconnect too. I’m not purposefully trying to distance myself from them.
