Thirteen teachers at the Gulati Institute for Financial Technology (GIFT) in Keralam are reportedly continuing to receive salaries from the University Grants Commission (UGC) even though the institute has not conducted any classes for an extended period. The discrepancy has prompted Cochin University, which oversees the institute, to launch an official investigation into the matter. Authorities are examining whether the payments comply with academic regulations and institutional policies. The probe follows concerns over financial accountability and the proper utilization of public funds in higher education institutions.
