helloo,, it's my first post here! i recently got accepted into LALA (Latin America Leadership Association) leadership camp, on brazil. an in person camp with goals of leadership, connection - and basically, joining the camp would be a goal of mine and would reflect on my future impact helping my community. there are a bunch of things there, such as mentorships, university placement, career help, emotional education and etc (see more in https://latinamericanleadershipacademy.org/leadership-camps/#) i'm really interested - but it's a week long, 6 hours away from my city, and the worst part: 1000 dollar fee. (aka 5000 reais in my currency) they offer various tools to raise the money, and it's also encouraged to make social media videos, etc etc at the same time that it's anything different i've ever done, i'm shy - and that's exactly why i'm afraid of just giving up - and don't know if i can handle it all (i'm prob just being paranoid) other than other costs etc, the worst would really be the fee. what also haunts me - what if i couldn't raise the full amount? should i try again? can i give the money back? that's pretty much it, i'm just doubting if it's worth it and i'd love to hear your opinions about it if someone has ever participated in these camps, pleeease tell me your experience. thank you so much submitted by /u/imconfusedh [link] [comments]
