School nurse but not teacher. Have a fifth grade student who is a chronic behavioral problem. Yes, she’s medicated. Yes, she’s had suspensions. I have been here all year and I know she could not have been in the classroom even 30 percent of the time. So…the admin’s solution: shorter days! Now she can get here 2 hours late and leave an hour early! (And she still acts out the entire time). This chick is going to get passed on to sixth grade after not doing a damn bit of work this whole year. It makes me rage filled for the kids that put in the effort. For the kids who find school excruciating for many reasons but are told to white knuckle it through every day. For the staff that shows up and gets abused.
