Guys, gals, and non-binary pals...the reason the graduation rate is up is because the bar is in Hell. We are graduating kids who can barely read, do basic math, or string together a coherent sentence. We are in the midst of an educational crisis that doesn't just border on educational malpractice; it IS educational malpractice. God forbid I actually say this out loud, though. At best, I'll be accused of "not having a committment to the core value that every child can learn." At worst, I'll be written up for not toeing the party line and be shipped off to teach EBD middle schoolers. Are any of my fellow Minnesota teachers feeling the same way? submitted by /u/oogabooga1967 [link] [comments]
