Earlier I made a post stating that I resigned today after being targeted all year by my admin at my elementary school. For context, I taught 5th grade writing and social studies at a brand new campus. This was my 3rd year as a teacher. Our campus was the culmination of 2 separate campuses combining into one, which totaled around 850 kids (K-5) and we had 1 head principal, 1 head assistant principal and 2 other assistant principals. I started the year 8 months pregnant and struggling with severe nausea and vomiting. I still came in everyday, did my duties and took my leave from September to late November. When I came back, that’s when it all started. I had a walk through evaluation 2 days after coming back from leave. While I was gone, my entire curriculum had changed and we were given no real guidance on what to do or how. The head assistant principal was my #1 hater. One day, she told me to come to her office and she gave me a sheet of paper with Monday-Friday written on it and had something I had done wrong written for every day that week. I got in trouble for being 1 Chromebook short even though I had emailed our IT department multiple times to rectify the issue. She did this so many times until about a month ago when they told me I was being moved out of my classroom to a different position because they didn’t think I was doing a well enough job and were about to take the STAAR test. They put another teacher in my classroom who lasted a week and told me that she wasn’t getting any different results than I did. She had nonstop behavior problems the entire week. They moved me to the ISS room where they continued to find fault in that as well. I was put there with no training or guidance on what to do or their rules or anything. But wouldn’t you know, I got called back into her office again to be told that I wasn’t doing a good job in ISS and that I couldn’t handle the students. All of this because I had to call admin for a student who is ALWAYS in trouble and is always being sent home from ISS. At this point, I had given up. It’s obvious they were doing anything they could to get me to resign and they got their wish. I had no way to fight back or defend myself. I know that she just didn’t like me so she created issues where there wasn’t any, but how do you prove that? Anyways, onto the next chapter of my life. TDRL; I resigned today because my admin found nonstop faults for anything I did. They even moved me from my classroom and put another teacher in my room, just for her to last 1 week and get no different results and had severe behavioral problems the whole week. submitted by /u/adhdconisor [link] [comments]
