I am a second year teacher having some difficulty. I have a hard last hour (high school) and I tried to seek support from admin early on, they helped a little but nothing truly helped. Then the issue comes with how they feel like I'm not doing enough and I need to structure bell to bell work as they believe this will stop the issues. However, the kids don't want to do anything and parents are not supportive, so I am left feeling at crossroads. I already do more work than the other teachers in my department because they give a lot of down time, so the kids come to me and complain about the work I give and compare me. I just need to know how to get them to trust me enough in what I do and get them off my back. These convos only really get brought up when I escalate problem behaviors because this happened when I wrote a kid up for leaving my room without my permission.
