Why are parents no longer encouraging self feeding? Or eating at the table? Today there was staff shortage in the pre k classroom (4 year olds). I was on break so I went there and supervised lunch. 6 students were crying and another 2 students were not eating. Their teacher told me "they don't like being told to eat their lunch because they want me to feed them. At home, their parents spoon feed them while they watch TV or play games on their tablet". I am a parent of 4 kids and I was very happy when my kids could do things independently like feeding themselves. Why is this changing? submitted by /u/Squishmallow145 [link] [comments]
