I currently work at two schools as a first year teacher . At both I’ve asked about teaching an extensive unit about sexual health and education. At both schools I’ve been told I can’t do it because of “liability issues”.

I currently work at two schools as a first year teacher . At both I’ve asked about teaching an extensive unit about sexual health and education. At both schools I’ve been told I can’t do it because of “liability issues”. I this frustrates me so much because I hear kids talking about sex, their sexual identities, and even in passing have heard of sexual encounters. I’ve always thought one of the most important parts of health at these ages was sex education, and I’ve always been passionate about that. Should I talk about options around it over the summer or just give it up? submitted by /u/exboxthreesixty [link] [comments]
