College Campus Controversy: Cigar Incident Raises Questions About Age and Authority A recent incident on a college campus has sparked debate about age, authority, and responsibility. A college staff member was approached by a high school student participating in a college preview program, who asked for a light for a cigarette. Unbeknownst to the student, the staff member was about to light their own cigar, but not before a teacher intervened, confiscating the cigarette and lecturing the staff member about the presence of minors on campus. The incident raises questions about whether the staff member was overstepping boundaries or simply exercising common sense, and whether they will face disciplinary action as a result.

Now I work in a college so needless to say students are over the age of 18. But this past week there was a highschool thing where students get put into a few classes to show what college is like. Now as I was outside having a cigar (I usually only smoke once in a while), a student asks me for a light, not thinking I was about to light it when his teacher snatched the cigarette from his mouth and tried to give me a lecture about students being around. This kid could easily pass for 18. Should I be concerned about being called into the directors office this coming week or should I be in the clear. submitted by /u/Helpful_Dragonfruit8 [link] [comments]
