I'm not sure if this is technically humor, I'm kind of shocked at the moment. My mom always talks about how school was back in the day and how she struggled in math in high school. I did some searching and found a high school math book from 1966. The expressions and equations that I'm teaching to 6th graders were taught in high school!! When did this happen!?!?!? What other content areas have drastically changed? Maybe these Gen Alpha's aren't acting out, maybe the expectations have changed so much that their brains can't handle it?? Maybe technology and parenting play a part, or maybe they keep designing standardized tests to be more and more difficult and their brains literally can't do it! Could they be literally shutting down based on overwhelm? submitted by /u/CluelessProductivity [link] [comments]
