Maybe this gets posted a lot in some fashion, and I know it counts for nothing, but I have a young daughter who has been struggling a bit and it had been a while since I'd really thought much about the role of a teacher in today's society, and everything they do, including all the things they shouldn't reasonably be expected to do. I honestly don't know how you all do it, and it's frankly not pleasant to think about, because it shines a very unattractive light on how little I'm doing in my own life to help people. You all do the most important work in the world, while being treated at times like punching bags, social workers, corrections officers and surrogate parents, often with no appreciation, often with active scorn from parents, administrators and students. You are amazing, and thank you all so much for what you do for our world, even as we fail to empower you to do it to your fullest abilities. That's all. submitted by /u/StructureLopsided718 [link] [comments]
