Just was listening to music today and thought of this story. This takes place during early Covid (May 2020) and this is one of my favorite teacher stories to tell. I am biracial (white and asian) and taught in a predominately black community at the time. Super low income. I was an interventionist at the time so I was working with a second grade girl on sight words over zoom. I showed her a word and asked her the word. She said the word (thought) and I said “use it in a sentence” and she goes “I saw you talking over there to that THOT”. My 23 year old brain was dying and I was trying to not laugh. Thot stands for “that h*e over there” for those of you who did not know. At least she knows how to use it the sentence. submitted by /u/Naynaytacos [link] [comments]
