I finally did it—what so many of you have suggested. In a planning meeting yesterday with other teachers and a member of admin (don’t get me started on how I feel about that…), I was going over my plans for a unit I have successfully taught for the past three years at my old school. (This is my first and last year at my current school. It’s that bad.) Admin kept asking me about how I’m incorporating more “productive student conversations” into my lessons. I turned it around on her, because she has claimed to have taught this material in the past: “Can you give me a few examples of how you would do that?” She couldn’t answer the question, and changed the subject. Ignored me for the rest of the meeting. It felt pretty good to see her so flustered by such a simple question, especially since I’ve gone through so much shit with the school this year. So, to my fellow teachers stuck in awful situations, remember this magic question! It really works! submitted by /u/ANuStart63 [link] [comments]
