I was told yesterday I was being non-renewed I was given no reason. The last two years my evaluations were in the distinguished level using the Danielson system and we were told at a meeting Tuesday that they were eliminating seven positions and that was part of how they were handling budgetary issues. I'm not going to resign because I need the unemployment and I'm not going to screw myself over like that. this is my 20th or 21st year in education But only my second year technically in the district a third being evaluated by the district because of the first year I was in a school where it was connected to the district it's complicated but part of how the preschool grant is funded in New Jersey. My opinion is they didn't do it as a RIF because then legally they have to offer me the position if they post it and just pick me up right where I was I have a masters and when I was hired in the district they gave me credit for about half of my experience so I'm on a high pay scale and I have a masters. of course that's not what they're going to say and legally they don't have to give me a reason. I'm just kind of venting I think. But any encouragement anybody can offer would be highly appreciated. submitted by /u/CridheSithiche [link] [comments]
