I've been reading this blog about a living curriculum (https://substack.com/inbox/post/172996292) that offers an expanded view of what education could be. Moving beyond purely factual recall based education to include more emphasis on art, relationships, mythology, indiginouse modes of knowledge etc. It all seems incredibly convincing to me. Like of course education should include all of what knowledge is, and all of what it is to be human rather than mearly learning facts, formulas, essays and other elements of academic life. So what are the arguments in favour of keeping the system how it is? submitted by /u/ATcoxy61 [link] [comments]
