I teach at a very large high school in Georgia. I’ve been at the same school the last ten years. It’s been good, but it’s getting more and more toxic. I chatted with my principal about adding my name to the transfer list in hopes of lessening the burn out feeling. I just want something new and want a change of scenery. I’ve interviewed at another school in the district. Now, admin team is furious at me for wanting to leave and have been telling my coworkers. Why is there so much guilt, gossip, and toxicity involved in wanting a change? Where is the professionalism? I feel like I’m a hostage who isn’t allowed to move on. How would you handle this? submitted by /u/The_Lez_Files [link] [comments]
